Testing and Diagnosis
Your doctor will likely diagnose Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis only after ruling out other possible causes for your signs and symptoms. He or she will use a combination of tests and procedures, including, but not limited to:
- Blood tests
- Endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy
- Imaging procedures, such as x-ray, small bowel imaging, ultrasound or CAT scan
