A thank you to our volunteers on International Volunteer Day
From the Gutsy Walk to our Galas, from research projects to patient programs, and from education events to support meetings, volunteers are at the heart of all we do at Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. We wouldn’t be the organization we are, and we wouldn’t be capable of achieving all that we can, without the dedication and talent of our volunteers across the country. Our 7,000+ volunteers make our essential activities possible, and they make even more possible for the people affected by Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.
To mark International Volunteer Day, I wanted to say thank you to all of our volunteers for the work they do for us, and for everyone impacted by Crohn’s or colitis.
Thank you to the volunteers who organize education events to deliver vital information to the newly diagnosed and the veterans of these diseases alike.
Thank you to the volunteers who create connections in their communities and bring together friends, families, co-workers, sponsors, and supporters at their local Gutsy Walk.
Thank you to the volunteers who canvass their neighbourhoods to bring more businesses and organizations on board with our GoHere Washroom Access Program.
Thank you to the volunteers who serve on committees and strategize, organize, and mobilize to bring fundraising events to life; events that fuel the research bringing us closer to a future free from Crohn’s and colitis.
Thank you to the volunteers who welcome people who have never met anyone else with Crohn’s or colitis to their chapter meetings and events, and offering empathetic ears, knowledgeable minds, and kind hearts.
Our volunteers are committed, caring, and capable, and we are stronger because of them. To all of our volunteers from coast-to-coast, thank you for choosing to give your time and energy to our shared cause. We exist because of you, and for you.
